As we are packing up and moving tomorrow, I thought I should pay tribute to the Leicester and all the memories we have made: (Prepare yourself, this is a doozy)
To Dunstall Avenue:
For the pink and green rooms,
For letting us have Mario DS battles through the wall at night,
For hosting tickle fight 2009, the sole occasion when I defeated Tom,
For the swimming at the Braunstone Leisure Centre and the epic excursion to find it,
For getting to call the fire department on the way home,
For your wonderful corner shop with the friendly lady,
For providing us with monster munch, pom bears, and strawberry cables.
To Rushmere Walk:
For your brilliant white carpets that are now less brilliant,
For allowing the shower to work after we shocked it with too much voltage,
For 27p chocolate bars at Sainsburys,
For the boy who blessed us daily with techno music through the wall,
For Penny who likes to drive FAST and sings to the radio in the morning,
For keeping Tom safe while I was still in Utah.
To DeMontfort University:
For Queens, Gateway, and the Law building for providing me with internet,
For Liberty Park and all its dirtiness,
For Higgins chicken sandwiches, which got worse with time,
For the Teachers who let me sit in on classes full of techno-babble.
To STOP! Smoking Services:
For offering me a last minute internship,
For having no idea how to get there,
For sending me to remote locations by myself on a bus, especially the bread factory,
For teaching me how to make a cup of tea,
For opening my eyes to the wonders of smoking cessation.
To the Paths:
For walks down Narborough Road at night, fearing for our lives,
For the discovery of Wilburforce Road,
For the canal where we fed the ducks, killer geese, and killer pigeons,
For the peaceful walk through Castle Gardens in the morning on the way to school,
For Arriva double decker buses, which are more often than not, late,
For beautiful Sunday walks at Bradgate Park and hide-and-seek in the bramble bush labyrinth.
To the Eats:
For Greggs, Starbucks caramel hot chocolate, and TJ's pizza,
For those wonderful muffins in Highcross,
For eating lunch by the empty fountain and watching the bums and pigeons,
And most importantly, for Nandos.
To Wednesday ASDA Trips:
For Mark, our fearless leader who would always manage to sneak salted fish in our cart,
For the epic fail trip to the two story ASDA.
To Westcotes Ward:
For the Wrights who entertained us with Tony-4 Night, 137, and so much more,
For the investigator class and all of its fun,
For going out with the missionaries,
For the Heath's little boy who knew every single thing about Star Wars,
For the walk to church when we saw the aftermath of Mr. Jiggles being hit on his motorcycle.
Goodbye to Leicester:
The first place where our dating relationship was able to thrive, and the place where we were first able to live life on our own!
